Topic: To be a teacher of a cram school

1. How relevant will the audience find this material to be?

I believe that most of my audiences as well as my classmates have experiences of being a teacher. And maybe almost every audience has experience of teaching somebody else.

2. How can I make it easier for audience members to comprehend the information I will share?

I will talk about both the pains and the interesting thing as a teacher in an easy and humorous way for I hope my audience to know that I enjoy this work although it is very tiring.

3. What common ground do audience members share with each other and with me?

For all I know, almost college students have had a part time job in a cram school. Or everyone has the experience to teach maybe siblings or children of neighbors.

4. What I can do to enhance my credibility?

It is about my experience, so I will take some examples to enhance my credibility, and at the same time make my audience know what I say.

5. What is my audience's initial attitude toward my speech topic likely to be?

At the first, they may understand what my work is and may think to be a teacher is really really hard.

6. What language or culture differences do audience members have with each other and with me?

The audiences may have the experience as a teacher. But their student may differ from my students. And maybe our content of work is different. So I will speak of the content of my work at the very beginning. And to deliver a speech in a foreign language may easily make my audiences misunderstood. So I will be very careful the words I use.

Specific goal:

I am going to share my experience of being teacher and of teaching little children. At the same time, I learn something from this experience. I realize that to be a teacher is not easy. To be a teacher, I have a new viewpoint toward teachers.

Introduction:

I. My students are a group of elementary students.

II. My work is to press them to do homework, check their homework, teach them math and sometimes answer all kinds of questions.

Thesis Statement:

My reflection is to be a teacher is not so easy because it takes infinite patience to teach little children.

Body:

I. It does need greatest patience to be a teacher and to teach little children.

A. I face the same thing every day.

B. I have to sacrifice my own image to warn and yell.

C. Some spoiled children don't respect teachers and listen to teachers.

D. For example, there is a spoiled girl always accusing me of amending her homework randomly. She will grouch and even give me a disdainful stare.

II. But there are still something funny and interesting as a teacher.

A. The funniest thing happened last Monday.

B. To be a spy to spy what the children are doing.

C. Because of this spy, I begin to like to observe the children and find them all live in their own world.

D. At times, some boys will take their pets to cram school and introduce to me.

Conclusion:

With these children, I seem to retrieve my innocence. And I begin to look forward to everyday surprise these children bring, although they bring troubles mostly. Though it is tiring, I am really happy with these angels as well as devils

Topic: Some Disadvantages of being Short

1. How relevant will the audience find this material to be?

The audience can try to understand and imagine what disadvantages they might encounter if they ever have had a chance to be as tall as me.

2. How can I make it easier for audience members to comprehend the information I will share?

I will try to give some vivid and real examples that happened in my daily life in order to let my audience comprehend what I am talking about.

3. What common ground do audience members share with each other and with me?

Most of my audience may wonder why I can be this short, and they may also wonder what disadvantages I shall have in my daily life.

4. What I can do to enhance my credibility?

I myself is the vivid example because I am only near 150 cm. Besides, if my audience wants to have any further information, they can read a book call "A Life of 150cm". The book gives a lot of similar example as mine.

5. What is my audience's initial attitude toward my speech topic likely to be?

I think the audience would be quite interested in my topic, and they might think that being tall is good in some ways.

6. What language or culture differences do audience members have with each other and with me?

My audience has the same culture as me so I do not worry about this part. As for the language, I think my English is quite understandable as long as I speak slowly. Therefore, I would try to lower down my speed and pronounce every word clearly.

Specific goal: I would like the audience to understand the disadvantages of being short.

Introduction: As everyone can see, I am not a tall girl. Being this short is not that bad, but it sure has some disadvantages. These disadvantages, frankly speaking, are not irritating, but can be defined as funny.

Thesis statement: I would like to tell you what disadvantages I often encounter in my daily life and how I decide to face these problems.

Body:

Ⅰ. The reason of being short

A. Most of my family members are not tall, so my height was inherited from my parents.

B. I am a girl who refuse to eat the food I do not like; therefore, I become skinny and short.

Ⅱ. The disadvantages of being short

A. In sports area

1. I am often belittled by other players because of my height.
2. It's impossible for me to slam dunk when playing basketball. Besides, my shots are often blocked by other players.

B. I am often treated as a child even when I am a college student now.

1. The clerk in the movie theater wouldn't let me buy the ticket when I said that I was not under-aged.

2. Little children often get along with me because they consider me as same age as them.

C. In buying clothes

1. There are few clothes that can fit me. I always have to tailor my pants in order to make them fit my size.

2. I can buy clothes for children because they often fit me well. However, I feel both happy and sad for this part.

Conclusion:

Being short has many disadvantages; however, these do not make me feel passive about myself. I still have confidence in myself because there are lots of things that compensate for my height, such as diligence, perseverance, and confidence. I do cherish myself for being short because I can have the experiences that others would never have.

1. How relevant will the audience find this material to be?

Many people are not familiar with dance and do not know how great they can benefit from learning

to dance. So, I'd like to share my close-up of dancing to the audience and to pluck up their interest in

dance.

2. How can I make it easier for audience members to comprehend the information I will share?

I will state personal experience and the influences of dance on the extrinsic and intrinsic side of me to

explain why I love dance so much.

3. What common ground do audience members share with each other and with me?

I think most of my classmates might think dance is a graceful and beautiful thing; while there are not so

many people have ever learned it and do not familiar with dance.

4. What I can do to enhance my credibility?

I would the reason why I love dance and in what way I benefit form dance.

5. What is my audience's initial attitude toward my speech topic likely to be?

They might be interested in another side of my dancing experience that how I change and grow form

learning to dance instead of just telling my learning process.

6. What language or culture differences do audience members have with each other and with me?

I think there are no culture differences between the audience and me; however, because English is our

second language, there might be some words I misused or misinterpreted so that my statement might

unable to be conveyed accurately.

Topic: The Influences of the dancing experience on me

Specific goal: I'd like to share the influences of personal dancing experience which can let the audience know why I love dance so much and how great of learning dancing can benefit them.

Introduction: Because most of my classmates only know I am a dance lover and my learning procedure but not knowing why I addict to it so much, I want to share how dance influences me and make me become a dance lover. I will state the introduction about my topic and what I am going to say directly.

Thesis statement: I want to share how great the influences of dance on both extrinsic and intrinsic side of me and why dance is so important to me instead of telling the learning procedure.

Body:

I. The influences of mastering dancing skill on my extrinsic side.

A. Actually I used to be a so-called sport dummy, and I had never imagine that one

day I will improve this weakness and even become a dance lover.

B. Due to the dancing skill, I can join many activities to perform and make friends.

Besides, I also realize how to act more elegant and womanish.

II. State how dance bring me a significant mental alteration on my intrinsic side.

A. I am a diffident girl who always can not overcome the stage fright though I

have been train up to be accustomed to perform on the stage since I was a child.

B. I found that dance is the only thing I am confident and will not afraid to perform

in front of people, so it gives me courage to face my own fear and try to overcome

my metal weakness.

Conclusion: I want to let the audience know the benefits of learning to dance from my own experience, realizing why I love dance so much and to pluck up their interest to learn dancing.

Most of my classmates also take part-time jobs, and they might be benefited by their jobs.

I will give some examples to explain my ideas.

I think most of my classmates might have worked part-time job and also learned something from it.

Sharing my own experience with them would be helpful.

Specific goal: I want my classmates to know what I gained from my part-time job.

Introduction: I worked at my uncle's bubble tea shop this summer vacation and I learned things from my experiences with customers and selling products.

Thesis statement: Selling bubble tea is not just preparing drinks according to customers' needs. A good seller has to answer readily and appropriately to customers' questions, and is willing to brainstorm to find ways to make more profit.

A. As an order taker, I should repeat customers' orders.

B. If I had thought customers might not know the news, I should have told them instantly.

I think my classmates might have gone through once before, excepting that the end is different.

2. How can I make it easier for audience members to comprehend the information I will share?

I will share them with details of my experience, front and back.

All of us had been promoted at least once; they might be familiar with my situation.

Share them with my personal experience might be helpful

They might think my speech was too lengthy. Because they all had knew it pretty well.

It might cause some comprehension problem to deliver my speech in English and I might be not able to describe my story vividly.

Specific goal: I want to share my experience of being promoted, and how I get rid of it.

Introduction

I. I had been promoted by a sale and almost buy the products.

II. I think some time we cannot handle the promoting problem and some smooth sales simply because we don’t have enough experience and are lack of related knowledge.

Thesis statement: I don’t buy her words of course, when I tried to cancel my order; while I don’t know what to do against her neither. In the end, I retrieve her promoting by legal confirm letter.

Body

I. at first I did not choose face-to-face to the sale, because she was so smooth that I could not possibly talk her away.

A. I wanted to cancel my order to an expensive encyclopedia but been refused directly by the sales.

B. she provided a lot of alternatives for drawing my intention for canceling the bill, even threatened me.

C. when I found out it was impossible for me to persuade her; I looked for my alternative, too.

II. After I made sure all she told me were lies, I decided not to sign when the delivery boy sending the encyclopedia and send out legal confirm letter.

1. I inquired my cousin for positive answers, and I got it.
2. I decided to send out legal confirm letter for giving it an end.
3. My plan worked, rather than one of the sale’s terrible alternatives.

Conclusion

I. Some time we would be puzzled by the sales, even believe their words, like me, but we should always try to save from the worse, don’t give up early.

Topic: The Experience of Being a Counselor in My Summer Vacation

1. How relevant will the audience find this material to be?
My audience will be interest in how to be a counselor, what happened during the camp, or how to get along with foreign friends. The experience can give my audience the concept of how to treat foreigners.

2. How can I make it easier for audience members to comprehend the information I will share?
I will use 5 wh- questions to help me organize my speech. I will share them with examples while facing different cultures.

3. What common ground do audience members share with each other and with me?
Some of my classmates have gone to place where I went during the camp. It may be another experience for them.

4. What can I do to enhance my credibility?
I will provide examples of how foreign teenagers thought differently from us Taiwanese and how some events influenced me.

5. What is my audience's initial attitude toward my speech topic likely to be?
They may be interested in what a counselor did to guide foreign teenagers on the camp.

6. What language or cultural differences do audience members have with each other and with me?
My audience may have a typical thought about foreign teenagers, who are more independent; however, human nature is the same; I met with many foreigners who are usually out of control.

1. Specific Goal
I would like my audience to know the experience of being a counselor and that people coming from different countries can still respect others' culture.

2. Introduction
A. Why this summer vacation's experience meant so special for me.
B. The establishment of the program was to help overseas teenagers develop understanding of Taiwanese culture.

I lead these kids into the core of Taiwanese culture and that I learned how to respect the cultural differences as well.

A. What a counselor's responsibility was.
B. The most valuable things I got was that I learned how to respect the cultural differences; and I will provide 2 examples.
a. Foreign teenagers liked to wear flip-flops.
b. How my member appreciated the temple.

5. Conclusion
Through the experiences of flip-flops and local temple, I realized that cultural communication existed only when one respected each other. And I did have a good time in my summer vacation.
