A6310 Section B 49482053 范德政 Speech Plan No3.

Speech title: Do Not Copy!
Audience Adaptation Plan
1. Audience attitude:
When I asked some of my audience if they have ever copied any book, I found that most of them thought it was easy, convenient and money-saving to get a copy of a book and they also thought that with so many people doing it, chances of getting caught were very small. As I put these data together, I determined that although my audience was not set against copying, they were not wholly for doing it either. Therefore, I put the majority in the group of not that worried about the consequences.
2. Reason:
I believe that the three reasons that are most likely to convince the audience are that copying not only is harmful to the publisher but also breaks the copyright, that copying is also a waste of natural resources, and that I, once as an editor, realize how an author would feel like if they know their publications are copied for personal uses without their permission.
3. Selecting an organization to meet audience needing:
Since the majority of my audience has no idea about the consequences they may take by copying, I will use my personal experiences and related law to draw their attention. Then I will illustrate the reasons logically to make them believe that they should stop copying.
Speech Outline
Speech Goal
I want my audience to stop copying.
Introduction
I.      Have any of you copied books for some course?
II.      Do you know what is copyright and how to copy right?
III.      Do you know what consequences will you take if caught copying a book?
Thesis Statement
The three reasons for stop copying are that copying breaks the law, that copying is a waste of paper, that is natural resources, and that I ,once an editor, know how other authors would feel if they know their publications are copied.
Body
I.                     Copying is a violation of law.
A.    According to Wikipedia, copyright is a legal concept enacted by most national governments, that gives the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited period of time.
B       According to the Ministry of Justice, whoever breaks the copyright will be given a sentence from six month to three years and fined two hundred thousand dollars.
C.    According to the Ministry of Justice, copying a few pages valuable for research from a magazine or something else is legal.
II.                   Copying is a waste of paper.
A.     Copying is a waste of paper, that is, a waste of natural resources.
III.                Copying shows no respect to the authors.
A.     I, once as an editor of a reference book, realize how painstaking and troublesome to edit a book, it is. So when I know people copy what I edit without my permission, how angry I would feel.
Conclusion
Since we know that copying will break the law, waste our natural resources, and show no respect to the original authors, we should stop copying anything for personal uses except for research.

Speech title: Donate blood today!

Audience Adaptation Plan

1. Audience attitude:

When I asked some of my audience if they ever donate blood or not, I found most of my audience have never donated blood before. Some of them think it is none of our business, some afraid of needles and even some think it waste their time because they can not direct benefits back.

 2. Reason:

I believe that the priority of getting blood is most likely to convince my audience. And that donating blood has benefits such as donating blood is good for the heart, blood donors can get free mini health check, and their 250 milliliter blood can save so many victims of disasters.

3. Selecting an organization to meet audience needing:

My goal is to motivate my audience members to take action, so I will provide them with incentives to act that outweigh the costs. That is, I will demonstrate how they can increase the likelihood hat they will fulfill their unmet needs by enhancing their self-concept and self-actualization.

Since the majority of my audience has no experience of donating blood and even some of them hate needles, I will illustrate a major reason to make them believe that they should donate blood right away. And then I will draw their attention by provide three benefits and answer some frequently asked question to motivate them to take the action.

Speech Outline

Speech Goal

I want to motive my audience members to take action of donating blood right away.

Introduction

I.       When mention donating blood, some of you may think it's none of my business, and I will tell you why we should take action right away.

II.     Such act of charity do not expect to receive any direct benefit from the donation is very grand and noble.

Thesis Statement

All of us will face a time in which we will need blood and there are many benefits of donating blood including donors can get priority to be given blood and free mini health check, and it is good for heart. And for students, donating is the easy way to help others, so we all should take action to donate.

Body

I.                A ll of us will face a time in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected such as earthquakes, floods, fires, storms and so many disasters that all require a gift of blood. We don't know who will need blood transfusion tomorrow. It can be your friend or dear one. So we should take action right away.

II.         There are three benefits about donating blood.

A.     According to the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation, donors will have priority over others to be given blood.

B.   Besides, donating blood is good for the heart. It may reduce the risk of heart disease of men and stimulate the generation of red blood cells. Recent studies have shown that men who gave blood three times a year reduced their risk of a heart attack by more than 50 percent.

C.    Donors can get free mini health check like blood pressure check, cholesterol screening, temperature and pulse readings and iron level testing. And the donor will be examined for hepatitis B and C, AIDS, etc, at the same time.

III.             Here are some frequently asked questions that I want to answer to my audience.

A.   Is donating blood safe? Will I get hepatitis B or AIDS from donation blood?

Donating blood is a safe process. Needles and bags used to collect blood are used only once and then discarded. There is no risk of contracting AIDS or any other disease through the donation process.

B. Will it make me weak?

The vast majority of people will not feel any different because of the donation. A very small percentage may experience temporary dizziness, but some rest and fluids will help you feel better quickly.  Your body will replace the lost blood within 24 hours.

IV.  I want to evoke positive emotions:

We are just students we don't make lots of money so it's not affordable for we students to make a financial gift. But donating blood to help others gives we poor students no burden at all. It is and easy way to help people in this society.

Conclusion

Since we know that all of us will face a time in which we will need blood and there are many benefits of donating blood.  We all should try our best to help many victims of disasters. And we are only a few steps away form saving a life. So donate blood today!

Speech title: Please! Stop Drinking Bubble Tea!

Audience Adaptation Plan

1. Audience attitude:

When I asked some of my audience about their feelings towards bubble tea, I found that most of them recognize it as one of the Taiwanese famous food and most of them enjoy it. Although they don't think bubble tea is nutritious, they don't think it will actually threaten their health. Also, when I asked them about the possible disadvantages of bubble tea, no one had mentioned about the environmental pollution. As I put these data together, the majority of my audience doesn't know how bubble tea will damage themselves and the environment.

2. Reason:

I believe that the three reasons that are most likely to convince the audience are that the ingredients in bubble tea threaten our health, that bubble tea makes us fat, and that the containers of bubble tea damage our environment.

3. Selecting an organization to meet audience needing:

Since the majority of my audience has no idea about the serious damages bubble tea may cause, I will use examples and statistics to draw their attention. Then I will illustrate the reasons logically to make them believe that they should stop dirking bubble tea.

Speech Outline

Speech Goal

I want my audience to stop drinking bubble tea.

Introduction

I.      When your foreign friends visit Taiwan, what Taiwanese food will you treat them? It is not surprising that a cup of bubble tea list first in your mind.

II.      Bubble tea is definitely one of the most famous drinks in Taiwan. However, although bubble tea is worldwide famous, it doesn't mean that it's a good drink for us to have.

III.    Today, there are three reasons to show you, so please, stop drinking bubble tea!

Thesis Statement

The three reasons for stop drinking bubble tea are that the ingredients in bubble tea threaten our health, that bubble tea makes us fat, and that the containers of bubble tea damage our environment.

Body

I.                     The ingredients in bubble tea threaten our health

A.     According to the Consumers' Foundation, tapioca pearls(粉圓) contains a large quantity of preservatives. When humsn body accmilates a great number of presercativs, that may cause headhache, vomiting and spasm.

B.     Cream(奶精) is made by trans fat. According to Wikpedia and Chicago Rush University, intaking trans fats will increase the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke and Alzheimer's disease.

C.     The quality of water used to make tea may not fit the qualified standard. According to public health bureau of Taoyuan county government, 36% of the bubble tea shops in Taoyuan are unqualified due to their unclean water. So there is one-third possibility for you to suffer from diarrhea by just enjoying a cup of bubble tea.

II.                   Bubble tea makes us fat

A.     According to the nutritionist of Mackay Memorial Hospital, per 100 c.c. bubble tea contains 56 calories which are higher than coca cola's 42 calories of same capacity.

B.     A cup of 500cc bubble tea is about 280 calories, and that equals to the calories of a bowel of rice or a McDonough cheese burger.

C.     If you drink bubble tea every day, you'll assimilate 102,200 calories which means 13.5 kilogram in a year. If you only drink once a week: you will still gain 2 kilograms in a year.

III.                The containers of bubble tea damage our environment.

A.     According to Environmental Protection Administration, there are at least 12 thousand bubble tea shops nowadays and the consumption of plastic and paper cups reaches to 5 million a day.

B.     So far, there's no law that can control the bubble tea shops' usages of plastic cups and bags, for most of the shops only serve customers with take-out drinks while our laws can only restrain the shops with seats for customers to eat.

C.     Although most of the containers are recyclable, few people can actually and properly recycle these containers.

Conclusion

Since we know that drinking bubble tea will not only threaten our health, make us fat but also pollute our environment, we should stop drinking bubble tea.

Audience Adaptation Plan
Speech Title: Say No to Bamboo Chopsticks!
1. Audience Attitude: I asked ten people about their attitudes toward bamboo chopsticks, and all of them knew their threatening effects, but only two people did not use them in practice. As I asked them why they still use bamboo chopsticks when they were acquainted with their disadvantages, most of them considered it troublesome to carry a pair of chopsticks with them, and they though that it did not matter a great deal. Worried about this negative tendency, I determined to contrive a speech to inform my audience of the terrible truth of their harmful effects and r persuade them not to use bamboo chopsticks any more.
2. Reason: There are two reasons for us to refuse to use bamboo chopsticks. The most essential problems of bamboo chopsticks are that they profoundly increase garbage and that they contain many toxic chemical substances that will jeopardize human health.
3. Selecting an organization to meet audience needs: At first, I am going to reflect my observation about the unworried attitude of people toward bamboo chopsticks. Then I will expose the astonishingly rough process of manufacturing to impress my audience and officially empirical evidences will be cited to support my arguments. Afterwards, I enumerate several organizations that are promoting this movement so as to kindle my audience to take immediate action. I am convinced that after my presentation my audience will feel it absolutely necessary to carry a pair of chopsticks with them.
Outline
Speech Goal: I hope people can carry a pair of chopsticks with them to avoid using disposable bamboo chopsticks.
Introduction:
I. According to Environmental Protection Administration, the daily consumption of bamboo chopsticks in Taiwan reaches almost 3 million pairs, and annually consumption is beyond 1 billion pairs.
II. Only two out of ten of my interviewees carry a pair of chopsticks with them, since they consider it to be troublesome.
Thesis Statement: There are two major reasons for us to stop using bamboo chopsticks, in that they deteriorate our environment as well as human health due to their rough producing process.
Body:
I. The consumption of bamboo chopsticks is a great threaten to our environment which has raised worldwide attention.
II. The procedure of producing bamboo chopsticks is surprisingly rough.
III. There are accumulating awareness among government and industry to promote the movement of refusing bamboo chopsticks.
Conclusion: Seeing such great costs we have to pay for using bamboo chopsticks, we should take immediate action to stop using them! And most of all, instead of relying on official promotion, we must try our best to practice this habit and propaganda this movement as wide as possible.

A6310 Section B 49282016 陳秀慧 Speech plan No.3

老師~抱歉可以幫我把上一篇刪掉嗎?
AUDIENCE ADAPTATION PLAN
AUDIENCE ATTITUDE:
When I asked my friends that would you buy a cosmetics or household-products using animal testing, some of my friends said they would not buy it if they found the company using animal testing, but they know little about which company do or don't experiment on the animal, while the others said it is inevitable that we would buy the cosmetics or household-product whose substance are examined by means of animal testing. Actually, we have many choices nowadays. There are many companies that do not use animal testing to examine their products, and there are many methods that can help the animal out of the unnecessary suffering.
REASONS:
I believe that my three points that the species of test animal differ from human, the animals have feelings like human and the alternative ways to substitute for animal testing can convince my audiences not to buy those companies using animal testing.
SELECTING AN ORGANIZATION TO MEET AUDIENCE NEEDS:
In the beginning, I will ask my audience to close their eyes and feel the situation and the fear of being tested like an animal. Then I will explain why animal testing is unnecessary in most cases. Last I will tell my audience what they can do to stop unnecessary animal testing. I think that I will make my audiences know the cruel truth and they can stop these unnecessary and inhumane things.

OUTLINE
SPEECH GOAL:
I want to convince my audiences to boycott these cosmetics and household-product companies that use animal testing to examine their products.
INTRODUCTION:
I.            What is "Animal testing"?
II.         Please close your eyes and image you are in a cage and are going to be tie to the surgical table.
THESIS STATEMENT:
We should boycott the cosmetics and household-product company that use unnecessary animal testing because the species of animals differ from human, they feel the same like us and there are many testing ways that can substitute for them.

BODY:

I.           Animals are lives on the earth, not the tool of human.
        A. Humans and animals both feel pain, fear, sadness, joy, love, and
             other emotions.
        B. Why should they suffer for beauty?
        C. Is the research necessary?

(Why animals, not human?)

II.        There are different species from human; it is harmful and dangerous to human.
        A. Insulin(胰島素) can make the baby of hen, rabbit and rat disabled,
but show no influence on human body.
        B. Because of the unreliable experiment, it is possible that people
will use harmful material on our body or neglect some material
that are really good to us.

(Is there any way that can help them out, but most of the researchers just ignore it?)

III.     There are many alternatives nowadays.
A.     Eytex」(一種用豆類製成的物品)andSkintex」(一種用南瓜皮製成的物品)
B.    Testskin

IV.      What can I do to stop these?
        A. Boycott the company
        B. Send an email and tell the company why you don't buy their
             products.
        C. The most important is to tell this cruel truth to any one you know
and you boycott these companies together.

V.         Conclusion
We should respect all species. I believe that all the species are born to be a certain purpose but definitely not the victim of human's selfishness. Or we are just like notorious Nazi that looks down on the value of life and also depreciate our value to be a human.
