Topic: Say no to junk food

 

Audience Adaptation Plan

1. Audience attitude:

The audience is my classmates and I often see them eat so-called junk food. They may know junk food is bad for health, but they still eat junk food. Therefore, I want my audience to join me to say no to junk food.

2. Reasons:

I will introduce five bad effects of eating junk food, getting fat, nutrition unbalance, deficiency of intelligence, higher risk of getting chronic diseases and cancers, and emotion problem to convince my audience to eat less junk food, or not to eat.

3. Selecting an organization to meet audience needs:

First I will talk about what junk food is, and then I will introduce the five bad effects of eating junk food. Finally, I will make a conclusion and stress my main point again.

I want to convince the audience to say no to junk food.

Introduction

I.            Are you junk food lover?

II.      What is junk food?

III.   When it comes to bad effects of junk food, you may simply think of getting fat.

Thesis Statement

Actually the bad effects are more than just getting fat. According to a news article about junk food on the ttv news website, there are at least five bad effects: getting fat, nutrition unbalance, deficiency of intelligence, higher risk of getting chronic diseases and cancers, and emotion problem.

Body

I. Getting fat

 A. The average amount of calories of a donut is up to 350-450.

 B. Eating a donut a day, you will gain 0.5 kg weight a week, 2 kg weight a month.

II. Nutrition unbalance

 A. Sweets and snacks make people full easily and then affect the food intake of the three meals.

 B. The phosphorus of soda and other similar beverages limits the bone's ability to absorb calcium.

III. Deficiency of intelligence

 A. Chronic nutrition unbalance will do harms to our intelligence and result in deficiency diseases.

 B. Children who love high sugar and fat food are 3-4 times more likely to having learning disability than children who eat healthily.

IV. Higher risk of getting chronic diseases and cancers

 A. Meat-based western style food will heighten the probability of getting colon cancer.

 B. The nitrite contained in pickles and processed meat products will lead to cancers.

 C. After grilling and frying, adipose will generate carcinogens.

1. A roasted chicken thigh generates the amount of carcinogens equal to the amount of carcinogens eighty cigarettes generate.

D. Having food of high fat and high calories over a long period of time will increase the risk of getting chronic diseases.

V. Emotion problem

People who sleep much and love junk food tend to violence.

Conclusion

        Now, do you think you realize all the negatives of junk food? Of course not, since what I have mentioned are merely the tip of the iceberg. Eating food gives no benefits but harms, so next time when you want to have this kind of food, please think twice, for the reason that it's actually bad for your health.
